I was wondering if anyone has started tapping the trees yet. I've been getting things ready but have yet to drill a hole. Not sure what it will be like this year with the temperatures they way they have been.

Yes the trees are ready to be tapped. Most of the big guys around here are tapped.

I put in 9 taps around 2:30 Saturday and had about 15 litres of sap by suppertime. It flowed a bit Sunday and Monday with the cold temperatures but should increase as the week goes on and the daytime temperatures come up.

Having a great year here with the sap running. Having a hard time keeping up and definitely better than last year. I was wondering what this warmer weather would do, but it seems to have helped.

Anyone else seeing the same thing?
