Hey guys opener is just about here. Here are some picks from the last few days to get you in the mood. Seems to be a lot more young jakes this year, maybe because of the mild winter? Allowed for a better survival rate in the young birds. There are still some big lads too so it should be very exciting hope to post one of these guys pics on here wed night lol.

For the guys just starting out, notice the time of day on some pictures, moring, noon, and night so dont think you always have to be right out there at the break of dawn or if you are dont think that they are not around because you dont hear gobbles. The Big and smarter they are the more unpredicatable they become, be ready for suprises.

Best of luck to all

Great photos!

Yep, dont always have to be up at the crack of dawn for these guys. I remember I had good action last year right around noon one day, but he got hung up and wouldnt come any closer than 50 yards or so. But it goes to show that they can be active all day in the spring....if you have the time, and some snack in your bag....why not stay out all day

3 years ago I hunted until noon and nothing, so I went to my duck pond to check my minnow traps. While there I heard a gobble next door, I threw on my stuff and set up in fence after hour I called five birds onto my side of the fence. Had to settle for a six inches because the big leader was to smart to provide a shot..... All day action, biggest tip to the newbies
