Hey there,

New to the forum and new to hunting, looking to get out in the spring for my first season of hunting. Looking for some advice as to where to hunt, have been researching a lot of different areas of crown land. Wondering if anyone is willing to give up any info, not looking for your spots just access\parking spots to get into some crown land where I can hopefully find my first gobbler. Im an avid hiker\canoe tripper and looking to get into hunting this year.

Cheers, Matt

Sorry, I guess not too many are familiar with turkey hunting around Tweed, myself included.

Best I can say is go to the crown land you are looking at and do some scouting and lay of the land. But remember the birds are still flocked up for winter. Just because they may not be there now, does not mean they will not be there later. They will be breaking up soon and heading off to their spring homes. I would wait until 2-3 weeks before opener before looking for the birds themselves. Find yourself a good vantage point and get there just before first light to listen for them gobbling. You can hone in on them from there.
