Well was out on Saturday for my first spring turkey hunt.Turkeys 1 Shawn 0 set up where i had seen them on Friday heard them descend from the trees and gobbling but no takers.Sunday set up in spot where i shot my tom last year and was covered in them.Turkeys were only 50 yards from me and didn't see them until i was right on top of them good thing it was still dark i backed up quickly and quietly to set up with out busting them which 1 bird i did.As day started to break i notice 1 right on the field edge so i called softly to it and it few out in the field and strutted the whole way in gobbling as it came closer i could hear it spitting and buzzing as i was watch the turkeys behind me i seen him in the corner of my eye as i was watching the rest fly down.I watched him as he displayed his show to me for 15 minutes i just couldn't take any more so i decided it was time.Shawn 1 turkeys 0.It weighed 19.10 lbs

Nothing wrong with that. That's a good size jake and will make for some good eating.

I've only been after them with my compound bow. That sure makes it a different game out there. I've seen a bunch, called one and stalked one in range, but so far it's turkeys-2, Dave-0.
