The story starts my son and I made a salt lick ,from fellow hunter on this site.WE did in july with no luck the deer didn't find it.So in oct we added some apples to the mix with in 2 days we had some sign, then no traces for 2 weeks. We could not seen to meet up with one until this nice 10 point came in looking for doe on Nov 9 at 5 pm .This is the first year Jesse has hunted no buck fever for him, with a well placed shot to the heart .The buck didn't leave a blood trail,no blood at the spot it was shot, first and only blood we found was 15 yards away, deer was 40 yards away and down .We were very lucky ,hard to track with no blood .the 20 ga slug when clear through, small holes wouldn't let the blood out i guest.all in all he is a very happy hunter hooked for life now .This makes me very proud of him,and some good eats to boot.

Congratulations to your son. That is a great first deer and makes for a great memory for you both.

That glow in the bucks eyes and the glow in the young hunters eyes, says they were meant for each
other. Well done young man.
