I just thought I would share a little tip I picked up years ago.
After steel shot came out, it didn't take long for me to bite into one and quickly realized they aren't as forgiving on the teeth as lead used to be. So now, after I am done cleaning them, I drag a very strong magnet all over the body or meat and find all the steel shot inside. You will feel it pull. Sometimes I have to poke a little hole down to the pellet with the tip of a knife to draw it out.
I pulled seven pellets of the ducks Catcher and I shot the other day and three out of the goose I shot this morning, one was actually in its heart. Anyway, I hope this helps someone one day.
