The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is seeking the public’s help in identifying the person or persons responsible for dumping the remains of a cow moose along the Johnston Road, just north of Madoc, in the Municipality of Centre Hastings. The moose had been shot out of season.

The remains of the butchered moose were found inside a grain bag that was dumped in a ditch along the Johnston Road during the first week of December 2014. The hide and remains were fresh and it is believed the moose was shot around December 1.

Is this the result of a lowered number of tags?

I get it, folks like to eat moose, but come on. This kind of poaching BS gives hunting and hunters a bad name and gives the antis and the government an excuse to limit hunting even further than it is.

I hope the MNRF catch the perpetrator and that they are never allowed to hunt again.
