Looks like the coyotes got this buck for dinner. Found it in the back forty on the weekend. Last time I was there was mid November and it wasn't there at that time. Coyote tracks were everywhere. Time to get the rifle out again.

hello Dave i hope you weren't hungry not much left on that one.most of the time the bones are all over the place maybe this one died, then they found it after it froze.A friend shot one just before dark by the time we found it the next day there was nothing left ,some hide and a few bones.the yoted are all over my land trying for my rabbits ,i think the rabbits are winning not finding any fur or blood.Good luck with the rifle .

I have seen a lot of deer as you described. But I think the coyotes got this one during the ice/melt and it got frozen in on them judging by the way it was located. Either way, it was a nice buck. The little guys and I took a trip back there today and we were able to break it loose now that the water has gone back down.
