Morning started off without a single gobble , but I heard them fly down . I made about a 100 yard move on them and let out a fly down call and got a gobble !! They were still about 200 yards away but doable, 1 Tom 2 jakes and 6 hens !!! Yelps weren't working only soft purrs and leave scratching made the hens turn and head my way , with mr Tom in tow! Of course everybody stopped about 15 yards in front of me and eyes peering for the hen scratching in the leaves , finally the Tom joined them at about 20 yards it was time ! The 20 gauge barked and birds went everywhere except the Tom .. Lol
21.2 pounds 9 3/4 beard 1 spur at 1 inch and the other broke off .Great memories !!

Called this guy in to about 30 yards, he has a real thick/wide beard but it is only about 3" long and as you can see has red tips. I have never saw a beard so wide and yet so short, big heavy body and 1" spurs
