I found a dead coyote floating in the Murray Canal. It must have been crossing on thin ice. Upon poking it with a stick to my surprise it was wearing a tracking collar. I contacted the MNR # on the collar and they came right out and picked it up. It turns out it was one of a bunch they collared as pups in the County back in 2012.

He was at the west end but he could have went through anywhere and drifted with the current. It has been wide open for a while.

It would be interesting to see how big the home range was for that coyote over the past 4-5 years.

They trapped and collared them on my property then. I remember the MNR telling me they a few that were frequent visitors from the county right into downtown Trenton .
