banded black duck

I shot this black duck with a band in the 1000 islands on Oct. 2nd. It was a female banded in Quebec 5 years ago. I also shot one 7 years ago that was banded by the same guy in the same town. They were both shot in the same pond about 50 yards apart. Pretty neat that they follow the same migration routes. I guess that is the purpose of the bands so they can collect such data.

I have shot a few ducks that were also banded in Quebec . We should compare notes and see if it is the same bander. This year so far we have gotten three bands all from Canada Goose. Congrats on the jewllery.

good shooting. I was watching a show the other day and they said there were 10 milliion ducks that migrate through the St Lawrence river valley every year. WOW.
