I am going to be installing a fish finder on the front of my boat and was wondering what wire I should use I have regular 12/2 gauge marine wire ,would this be enough to do the job. It's a elite 4 hdi going up front

I have always just matched the same gauge wire as what comes with the unit. Not sure exactly what that is but I just take the power cable with me when I am buying the wire. On sale a Princess Auto next week I believe.
