Hi everyone,
I've got a quick question about Carbon fishfinders and chartplotters. I am about to buy one, I believe 9-inch display is enough for me. Wanted to ask you on the options real quick, just to see if they are really worth the money.
That's the one I was looking at:

And here's what I wanted to ask:
1) Will I really see the difference between the 2 transducers, structure scan 3d (more expensive) and total scan (less expensive)? Is it really worth the money?
2) What features am I losing if I pick one without the transducer?
Just wanted to clarify this for myself before I go and spend money.

The 3D transducer will give you the 3D view. You won't get that with the TotalScan. I would recommend just the TotalScan.

If you buy the unit without the transducer you'll lose out on all the sonar features.

I have HDS 9 gen3, it stops reading the depth finder and comes back again it is intermittent, call the tech support few times but not much help. I used Lowrance all my life but next unit will be Raymarine or humming bird. I we with HDS 9 because of outbound auto control.

I am having the same issues with HDS9 gen 3 with latest software, if you downgrade one version the problem goes away but you loose some features.
