Hi guys. Back in the summer i bought a Humminbird 597ci HD Down Imaging unit from you and then later i got the Navionics Fish N Chip -G for it. I was wondering about the Navplanner2 software and what it will do for me. I understand that it will allow me to view my Fish N Chip on the computer and let me see the Bay of Quinte and add waypoints and plan spots that i want to fish. Do I add a blank sd card to save it to or do i save it to the Fish N Chip. Also can i print out the maps and will the card reader allow me to update the chip in the future. How much is the Navplanner 2 with shipping to me here in Bloomfield. Thanks... Fred

Hey Fred,
Thanks for the note. Basically, NavPlanner2 is a PC program and card reader that will allow you to plug in your existing Navionics Chart and/or is supplied with many electronic charts which you can view, research and create waypoints, tracks and routes on your PC of the areas and waterways YOU CHOOSE.

From there, you can transfer any of these waypoints, tracks and routes to a blank SD card, then place the card into the Humminbird 597ci HD and import the data.

Alternatively, you may put a blank SC card into your Hummbird and export the existing Data to the card. Then take the card out and put it into the NavPlanner Card Reader and open the NavPlanner Software on your PC. By importing your existing data, you may manipulate the information (name waypoints, add symbols and manage data into regions) and save the file(s).

You may then upload and download any of the information you require or prefer into your Humminbird for the region you are fishing any particular day.

Why not just leave 1200 waypoints in your Humminbird so they are all always there? Because it slows down the unit and is a pain in the a$$ to flip through when you need it most.

I hope this helps. I have included a complete description below.

(Don't forget to ask for your Quinte Fishing Discount when you order)

Regards

Jack

WARNING: Navplanner is very addicting. I have been known to spend hours in front of my laptop playing with it and researching new areas. Make sure you have popcorn

Navionics PC App 1.5 will allow you to download/change/add/save waypoints and routes. It is also compatible with Mac. It doesn't have all the features of NavPlanner.....but its like 30$ for ?5? licenses.

Another option....
