Is lake ontario in 3 d mode ?
does 3d mode work on hds-5 first gen. not the new second gen ?

Does radio world have a demo or rental program for the gen 2 lowarance units. i know another store that does that.
Not really sure if i want to upgrade or stick with what i got.
But i have Nothing but a ton of respect for radio world, best customer service in the business.

Thank you,
Steve

Hi Steve

The Hotmaps Platinum does not include all of Lake Ontario, just a very small portion on the east end. The Platinum+ charts would have the Great Lakes on it including Lake Ontario in 3D. This would work on either of the HDS units.

If you are using the StructureScan module with your HDS unit they I would highly recommend upgrading to the HDS Gen2 units. The StructureMap feature on those units is just awesome.

We do not have a rental program on the marine products at Radioworld. Thanks for the kind words, and let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

Steve,

Here is a screen capture of what the Hotmaps Platinum Chip covers. Everything in the red boxes is covered.

Let me know if you want any more screen shots of what the data covers or looks like.

Thank you,
I am more interested in the 3d aspect of it then any thing else, i find it alot easyier to read then contour lines.
Lake ontario is generaly pretty deep, so i am looking for those area's where it comes up.
I should really buy the reader for the computer, so i can do this all at home, and not while on the water.
Thank you,
steve
Its the kingston area that i fish.

Steve,

The software I used for that screen shot is the free navionics pc app.

To my knowledge the only place to see the 3D imaging is on a unit. I'm in the middle of upgrading all my units to the simrad NSS's so I don't have a unit to pop the chip into. Sorry.
