lms 520c Units stored indoors over winter in a cool dry place away from any items that would generate frequency or magnetism. First 2013 trip out on the water today, power up unit and get only base map. No contours. Try chip in second unit and the same thing. The thing that leads me to believe the chip might be dead is the lack of navionics chip option in the menu to pull up region. Only shows Lowrance. Like the chip is not being read. Chip was inserted in an Eagle unit as well as a 2nd Gen HDS 5 with chip not being read by either unit. Insert other chips into my units and chips are read. The Chip in question is a Navionics Hotmaps Platinum, MSD/HMPT-C6 with a 2010 manufacturers date. Need a solid cause these ain't cheap and a three year life span at $460+Tx is difficult to swallow if I have to replace it. Could the information just disappear like that? Appreciation in advance to any help coming my way.

Sebastian.

The Hotmaps Platinum will not work the the Eagle or in the LMS-520. It should work in the HDS unit though so I would double check it in that unit. If it isn't read in the HDS then you are probably right that it is shot. If that is the case you're probably best to contact Navionics on that.
