I currently have a Minn Kota Powerdrive with the Co-Pilot accessory installed which I really like for river fishing since I can mount the small remote on my rod and run it more or less hands free. It is getting pretty tired and needs to be replaced and I am looking at either a Terrova or V2 with the I-Pilot. My concern is that although the large, hand held remote is fine for most applications, I really like the smaller remote at times. Somebody told me that you can also run the I-pilot equipped motor with a Co-Pilot remote....is this true? If so, what do I have to buy in addition to the motor & I-Pilot?

Thanks in Advance,
Greg Mc.

Hey Greg

I haven't heard this before so I contacted Minn Kota directly and they said that the answer was no. The new remote for the 2012 iPilots has been redesigned so you might want to check them out and see if they'll work for you. I only looked at one quickly at the Spring Fishing Show and didn't take notice of the size compared to the old one, but it did look a little thinner...still about the same length though

Thanks for your quick response, I thought that story sounded too good to be true. I will have to think about which way to go on my new motor.

We got one of the new iPilots in yesterday and the new remote is the same size just a little sleeker looking

Thanks Lawren, I'll be down that way Friday and stop in and figure out which way to go.
