Navionics Platinum Won't Load!!???!!!

Just got a Navionics Platinum Chip, put it in the unit ( HDS 8 GEN 1 ) and nothing happens... I've been through settings and selected Navioincs I've also gone through the different updates..... still nothing.... could the card be bad or what's going on here??...

Stupid question but just a thought... Is it the right card for that area of the map you are looking at?

Try the other card slot see if that makes a difference. If not see if you can try it on a buddy's unit. Or do you have any other cards you can try to see if the unit recognizes those?

Ya, I tried both slots, and yes, it's the right card. Hotmaps Platinum Canada MSD/HMPT-C6

My units recognize my Hotmaps Premium card with no issues.

Ya, I'll have to get someone else with an HDS unit to try it.

Sounds like an issue with the card then if you have another one that works. Try updating your unit to the new version of 4.1 if you already haven't http://www.lowrance.com/en/Downloads/Pr ... re-Update/

Just a thought. I had a similar experience once when I put the card in and all i saw was white. Thought the card was toast but it turned out I was just zoomed in too close.

Dan : No, it's not just zoomed in/out, I've tried everything........I've got a friend bringing a unit over so I can try it in his and if it doesn't work, then it's getting sent back. Unless anyone here wants it.... $140....

If you're ever in the Amherstview area, shoot me an email (matt_clapp@hotmail.com) if you want to test that card in another HDS unit. I have a 5 and 7, both on 4.x.

Thanks Matt, I tested it with another unit today.... and it's a no go.... I'm sending it back. Thanks for the offer though.

I had this issue as well, i called radio world, was told to try updating it. I cleared unit to factory settings, then did update, and it works now.
