Running 2 fish finders on one boat

Was wanting to hook up 2 fish finder on my boat, one at the console and one on my trolling board to angle back to track the downrigger balls. What should I consider to ensure there is no interference between the two units?

Eves.....do it all the time. Your post is a little confusing. The unit at the console usually has the transducer at the back as well with most others having the transducer on the bow mount. Is this your set up? You probably don't need both units on at thesame time if you are rigging but can either change the frequency or ping speed on one of the units. Depending on the ball weight and depth you may have to angle the transducer back to pick up the balls.

Yes Jim, that is exactly what I meant. I was unsure about the frequency interference between the 2 units being run simultaneously

What you can do if you are buying 2 new units is to get ones that can be connected with Ethernet because that will allow you to share 1 transducer between 2 units and therefore no interferance.

Otherwise, do what Jim said and try the 83kHz for the unit you want to track the cannon balls with. We have lots of customers trolling the Great Lakes who have had great luck with that frequency.
