Hi Everyone,
Hoping you could make this easy for me.
I just picked up a HDS-10 and need some chips (or ideally just one!).
I need one to cover Quinte, Lake Ontario (I fish off St. Catharines), and Lake Erie (I fish out of Port Colborne but also on the US side).
Really appreciate the suggestions - there are just so many options.
Thanks.

If I can get a few free minutes I'll take a look at the areas other than Quinte and see if I can provide a screen shot of the various options for you. With the US side of Erie being an area that you fish, I'll have to look into it further. Around here, either the Navionics Platinum C6 or Premium C6 are the best charts available, but they do not cover the entire US side of Lake Ontario, only the eastern end. I'll have to look into the US side of Erie.

Hotmaps Premium C6

So you can see why the Hotmaps tends to be the most popular chart of Quinte. It has full nav aids and very detailed contour lines. Its also the least expensive!

For your needs the 901 Platinum+ would be your best bet as you will have full coverage for the area's you need and the Fish N Chip on the Platinum+ will give you the detailed contour lines like the Hotmaps has. The only down side is you will have to switch between the Platinum and Fish N Chip. The other big plus with the Platinum+ chart is it will give you access to Navionics SonarCharts (see a couple threads below) for 1 full year.

Excuse me for going a bit off topic here, but what does the low digit number beside the depth indicate on the charts??

Thanks

Those are representing 86.9 feet for example. I believe the reason for this is based on the calculations from the original surveys. If the survey was done in meters and Navionics converts it to feet, you may end up with a fraction so that is displayed as the small number beside the main number.
