What are the differences between these two cards, for the money, any difference?

Gold is geared more towards Navigation while Hotmaps is more for inland fishing. Gold has full Great Lakes coverage including the Trent, Rideau, Ottawa and St Lawrence. Hotmaps will have limited Lake Ontario coverage but covers smaller inland lakes including the Trent Severn System and Bay of Quinte.
