I recently bought a HDS touch 9 to go with my HDS 7(gen 1), and am having trouble getting them to link.

I connected the ethernet cable and tried auto config on both units and that didn't work.

I wanted to get the SS to work on the HDS 7 at the bow. I did get the LSS 2 HD transducer. The SS works on the Touch 9.

Is there something else I need or am required to do?

Any help would be appreciated.

Might be a bad cable. Go into your Menu on your Touch and check and see how many IP addresses you have listed

If you only have one in there its only seeing THAT unit. You should have two in there letting you know both units are communicating.

If that doesn't work try switching Ethernet ports on the Touch 9 in case you have a bad port.

Also make sure both units software are up to date before you do any of this http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Software-Updates/

Sounds like the unit may have a defective port then. Get that taken care of while its still on warranty.
