Lowrance announced its 360°/forward looking sonar solution today. You can read the press release here http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/News/SpotlightScan-Sonar/. Take a look at our blog for more info as well http://blog.radioworld.ca/

The price point will be around $1000 and this will work on foot controlled, cable steer bow mount trolling motors.

What are your thoughts?

HI Lauren,

Do you know if this transducer can just be mounted like a regular transducer on the stern of my boat? I have a Terrova 80 ipilot and don't think it will fit.

Thanks

Should fit on the Terrova, BUT see Lawren's answer below!

Product Width 3.5 in \ 89.1 mm
Product Height 2.4 in \ 61 mm
Product Length 5.75 in \ 146.1 mm

Physically it will fit on the Terrova, however it will not work on any electric steer motors. A cable steer motor is required. The reason for this is that there is a NMEA2000 sensor that must be mounted on the foot pedal. This sensor measures the distance of travel in the foot pedal to calibrate what you are seeing on the screen.

So, with that said, it will not work as a transom mount because it requires the rotation of the trolling motor lower unit and the NMEA2000 sensor to produce the picture.

This is designed solely as a bow mount option for anglers with cable steer motors.
