Hey, what is the difference between the Elite-5G HDI, and the Elite-5 HDI?
What does the "G" mean?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers!

G means it comes with the Navionics Elite Bundle card. It has the same detail level as the Gold card and a similar coverage area.

I'm still doing research on what I should upgrade to. :)
Is the only difference between the Elite 5hdi, and the Elite 7hdi the screen? Or is the processor better in the 7?
Also, most of my fishing is done in the Great Lakes and up north at the cottage (north of Parry Sound),
What navionics chip is best to have?
Thanks again! ;)
Cheers!

Only differences between those units are the size of the screen and the Elite7 HDI also has NMEA2000 for some networking with other compatible units. There may be some other differences internally that I don't know about, but speed isn't one of them that I can see. Both units are very quick and I can't say one is faster than the other.

What's your opinion on the chip?

Navionics+ is the way to go for sure. That way you'll get sonar charts function which has 1' contour lines and is one of the most detailed charts for our waters.
