I recently purchased a Humminbird GPS with heading sensor and I'm trying to connect to my VHF radio. From what I'm reading from the manual is if you have the GPS with heading sensor, the Solix uses a baud rate of 38400 when NMEA output is turned on. But if you have just the GPS puck without the heading sensor then the unit uses a baud rate of 4800 which matches the radio. Is there anyway of making this work without purchasing a multiplexer. The manual also states that when the NMEA output is turned off, the control head has baud rates 4800 9600 and 38400 available. I'm stuck at what to do at this point. Thank You

As far as I know you would need a multiplexer. Unless of course you can adjust the baud rate in the radio you have.
