I just bought a new to me boat that has two humminbird units in it, the one at the helm has a navionics chip, it's a 900 series. The one at the bow has no chip yet there are some lakes, like stoco that display full detail while most lakes don't. It the bow unit reading the chip off of the helm unit sometimes? They are connected.

Or do some lakes just show up on the base map? It's strange that quinte doesn't show up, but stoco does. If I am missing something let me know. It'd be great to have maps on both units, but I don't want to have to buy another chip..

I dont believe the 900 series can share maps just the waypoints. I suspect you will have to buy a chip for the front unit.
