I've owned my helix 7 for about 4 years now and had updated my navionics charts yearly and never had a problem. This year I updated my helix 7 and I can't seem to get my charts to load. Does anyone know someone that could help me out. Would love to get my charts back working. I am current with the software versions 2.33 and basecamp 2.010. no idea what is wrong. Thanks

I wonder if you have a corrupt file on the navionics card?

Pull the Nav card with the unit on and reinsert it. See if it reloads.

..Obvious question; did you make sure that the Nav card is fully seated? I've had them pop before and not be able to read. Usually the last thing I check before losing my &#!#

Brownie,

Does the Helix have two sd card ports? If it does put it in top port. It should be the default port when power is turned on the unit. If you use second port you may need to go though a menu option to force helix it to look at the port.

I use a navionics chip in port 1 and a zero line autochart recording chip in port 2 on one of my helix units. The helix normally boots up on Navionics chip when you turn it on. If I want to look at port 2 I need to switch to it in graph menu.

I recently installed 2.330 on my Helix 7 and started having issues. Chart not defaulting to Navionics, losing the chart when changing views, loss of colour on Auto Chart Live etc.

Spoke to Humminbird, nice people but not a lot of help.


Spoke to George at Bay Distributors, who's a Humminbird repair depot. He suggested that the file download for 2.330 had been corrupted and to try it again.

Downloaded the update again and reinstalled. The first reinstall try only lasted a couple of seconds, which didn't seem right. Did the reinstall again, this time it took about a minute. Problem fixed.
