Thanks for the info. I think i'm going to spool up 100yds of 30lb pp and then see what happens on the first one then we'll go from there.

that'll be more than adequate for walleye....but not nearly enough for salmon.

i generally have 250 yards of backing on my core reels that are used for salmon/walleye/browns (but needed for the salmon).

i've almost been spooled before, even with 750' of line.....but that is from spring kings - the hardest fighting fish in our Canadian waters.

i use shimano tekota 600's for my 5 colour core duties.

Hi Guys

Newbie and first time poster

I've read about concerns about bladder stress when bringing walleye out of "deeper" water. What would you consider the depth where this starts to be an issue. eg over 30' ,40' 50'? I also wonder if a fish rises out of deeper water to take your lure running at a "safe" depth (whatever that is) would that fish not have equalized its air bladder on the way up from the depths to take the lure?
