Glad everyone got off safe, allthough in my opinion an 18 foot boat with 4 guys in it is pretty iffy ( weather permitting) I applaud the 2 rescuers but as boaters we are obligated to help(make no mistake, they saved their lives) now lets talk saftey...how many guides or charters have VHF radios and more importantly know how to use them? 15 years ago I heard a help call out of Bowmanville and with no answer back I went looking for them, found 8 guys in the water with a charter boat sunk, pulled a couple out and called for help and had a ton of guys show up to help, everyone got off ok but when I talked to the "captain" later he told me he wasn't licenced to use his VHF and thought help was ok???? Here is a guy taking people out for money with no clue how to use the most basic saftey equipment on his boat. I still think in this day and age the most basic saftey item is the VHF and know how to use it......rant over
