I was Fishing Adulphus Reach on the 16th of November this year, I was running 3 colors of lead with 50 Ft of mono in front. We managed to pull out a couple nice eyes just before the ferry. We were running reef runners and taildancers. My question is How many colors of lead should i use and how much mono in front or should I be using lead at all. Don't get me wrong this set up is catching me good size walleye just want to know if i should try to switch it up as i am marking fish shallower as the water temps get colder.

You likely won't need lead as the fish move up. If you are using 800 reefs that is. They dive more than enough to target suspended walleyes. That said with the forcast ice is comin fast. Picton harbor had ice around the docks this morning and it's much colder tonight.

3 colour core + 50 feet of mono on a reef 800 or td11 is no different than just running more of a lead to the bait using braid and no core.

If you run 100-150 foot leads you will be 18-35 feet down.

Hope this helps

BigMac is correct.

only way i'd use leadcore at this time of the year is if I was running spoons or non diving baits, and the core was getting the baits down.

in my life fishing quinte i've never used leadcore and a deep diving bait....that just gets my lures too deep and causes challenges with releasing the fish in a healthy state.

I always use leadcore, and it's definatly my best poles I. The water. I would never use a td-11 or RR 800 off it tho!! I use 3-4 colours then a RR 700. Keep your lead in the water!!!
Cheers!!
