Came up from Smooth Rock Falls for the annual deer hunt and walleye fishing on the Bay of Quinte. Brought up my father for the experience of a life time and we fished with a local buddy. 3 of us fished for 4 days and went 29 for 32. The majority of the fish were caught east of the batcave, but managed 3 in long reach around the red barn on Friday. The biggest was 11.2 and the smallest being 5.5. The majority of the fish were in the 9 lber range. We caught one bonus pike around 5lbs. The fish hit a lot of different lures throughout the week, but the hot lures were the troll to 20 Hot Steel(9 on this one), grey ghost reef runner(5 on this one) and orange reef runner(6 on this one). Depending on the day, the distances ranged from 125 to 200 feet behind the board. Had to put the drift sack out to get the trolling speed down to 1.3-1.5mph. The hot rod had to be the small spinning rod off the back of the boat flat lining with the troll to 20. Talk about a good fight on the little rod.

All the fish were released to bite again except for the 5.5 and one that didn`t survive.

It was a great time, looking forward to next fall. As for now, back home to 2 feet of snow and a foot of ice.
Hope you all have a great and safe holidays.

Cheers
Steve Gravel

Noticed the time stamp on some pics to be out of date. Sorry about that.

Great job Steve. You guys rock.
Thanks for the pics and report.

Sorry we didn't get out in the Grand Slam this year but when the ice hit it was time to put her away. Maybe next year.

Have a safe trip home.

Al
