Getting down to the fish in Adolphus Reach

I ‘ve been fishing Quinte for a couple of decades but mostly in May June or through the ice. This fall was my first go at trolling for the big ones out of Glenora.
Based on reading a bunch of earlier posts I had bought a number of Deep Down Husky Jerks. They did ok fishing Melville shoal, salmon island at night in early October. More recent posts on this board indicate that series 800 reef runners are more popular than the DDHJs.
I had some success on Adolphus Reach running big planar boards and dipsey divers with a shallow running crank bait 6 feet behind the dipseys. From the depth charts for the dipseys I’m guessing they were down 35 or 40 feet.

I also read that getting down 30 or 40 feet was key to success on Adolphus Reach (Keiths to the batcave). This is consistent with my experience with the dipsey’s. Most recent trip(Dec 3) I marked some fish down 55 feet in 100 fow.

My trolling newbie question (for next year’s expeditions): RR website says the 800 RR’s will go down 21 feet, the DDHJ’s might go down 18 feet. If the 800 series is the hot lure and 35 feet plus is the key depth how do you get the RR’s down that far?

I use both the 700 series and the 800's. the 800's I just flatline and the 700's go on the dipseys or 4-5 colours of leadcore. You don't need to get down the 50' because the walleye will rise up to strike the bait. They will come up 20' to hit!

Rr800 series maxes at approx 30 ft. Run them 150-200 feedback and use 15lb braid.

Do newer dive curves use 15lbs braid as reference or
Do the still ref the 10lbs mono?

RR 800 MAX ABOUT 35-37 FT ON 14/15 BRAID. EXTRA GET BACK FURTHER BUT NOT DOWN. USE 30/40 FT 10/12 FLORO LEADER

Not to mention you don't want to target any fish deeper than 30ft as most will not survive.....
