Hi,

Never been an ice fishing guy myself so my knowledge of the scene is very limited. My buddy is moving to Calgary in the new year and he loves ice fishing. As I live in the area, we want to send him off buy doing a 2 day ice fishing trip in BoQ. Chill at my place and fish during the day/evening. The 3-4 times I've went ice fishing have all been a bust - the ice fishing gods are not good to me. I'd like your help as we want to rent a hut that will give us some action.

Any suggestions?

Dates will be for this Friday and Sat. I live in Brighton.
Feel free to PM me if you know a good company to try.

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Broken record maybe but why not hire one of the guides for the two days. Way better odds that you will catch fish and almost guaranteed to be on fishy spots and safe as well.

Not many rent just huts on quinte but check the board sponsors I believe there is atleast one on west end of bay.

Personally I would call quinte ice fishing team or pbandjcharters

Yea I would suggest guides as well. I would suggest quinte hard water specialists myself. Brandon runs a great service and puts you on fish! They are all great guys as well.

Quinte Hardwater Specialists will put you on fish, equip you and show you how to ice Quinte eyes. Having an outfitter will dramatically improve your odds of success and you'll be safe doing it.

I wouldn't recommend renting a stationary wooden hut anywhere. Trust me, I've done it before, many times. Unless you are extremely lucky, and the fish are sitting there waiting for you, you probably won't have much luck. If you're just looking for a day to get out, shoot the ***, and stay warm while fishing, a hut rental would be alright (if their heaters work...hmmhmmm Baycrest)

Good Luck!!!
