Merry Xmas fellow anglers.
Does anyone know what the ice conditions are on Long Reach? I have a cottage at the north end near Green Point and this will be our first winter there. Would appreciate if anyone can advise on ice conditions and where to fish and where to stay away. Please feel free to PM me.

Welcome to the area , anywhere in front of your cottage would be a good place to start , Ice conditions can change in a matter of hours , right now the lads say it's sketchy at best , there are many currents along the shore line from the red barn all the way around the reach past green point heading to the bridge , The only way you can be sure of the ice is to spud as you go , NEVER trust what someone says the ice was like yesterday ! . You will see where the crowds gather and you can see where people are walking but check as you go , good luck and be safe , follow the posts on the board and you will learn lots
