I just bought the same pole. I put 6lbs sufix braided ice line and going to put a leader on with it. Not sure if it will work but thats what I'm going to try.

I use either 15 lb braid and 12 lbs florocarbon leader. Or 10-12 lb mono. Wouldn't use anything less

If you're going to use braid I'd go with heavier test, the only real difference is you'll be fishing with stronger line.

I have good luck with power pro ice, 10LB or higher as your fluorocarbon leader should be at least 30 inches long and I normally use 8LB leader and have landed 13.5LB fish with this combo. I suggest a very small high quality barrel swivel to connect the leader to your main line or you can use a uni to uni knot

I have had 8lb Stren Duratough (now called BruteStrength) for the past 5 yrs on both my rods, have not changed the line and still have no problem pulling up fish over 10lbs. Both my rods are Rovic Rods with little Quantum reels.

I like using 10 lbs power pro ice braid with a 8lbs floro leader and no swivel only a uni knot
