Well I don't post much on the fish board I mainly post on the hunting forum , due to a few people on here who are usually negative and think they are something else. But this is a fish worth sharing , I caught it last night at 5:00 pm and what a fish and my biggest to date. My intentions were to not keep it but the hook was in the gills and either one of the gills got severed in the hook set or with me trying to squeeze it through the 8 inch hole . Any how it was fatally wounded and was going to be coming home with me since one of the gills was completely severed and bleeding bad. I have caught a few over 10 pounds in my ice fishing history, but when I put a tape on this one and it read 32.5 inches I had to put my digital scale on it. And it settled in at 14.2 pounds, WOW what a fish .You guys will not believe me but it was caught on a green and silver hammered cleo spoon topped with a minnow. The bite has been light and very little movement , maybe a foot of bottom and 6 inch jigs with long pauses , which is hard to switch over from long aggressive jigging . Lol But it has been working for me with my limit every time out this year . Lots of fish on the flasher between 3 and 5 pm . Good luck out there.

Beautiful fish, I try to be extra careful when grabbing them from the hole to not have a hold of a rake before pulling her out. I have made that mistake in the past though due to excitement of the fish at the hole and not wanting to lose it. Great catch, are all of the others under slot?

Yes next biggest was just under 23 , always have tape measure with me.
