Wow! That is one monster walleye Catcher.
Great post and as to what you said, anyone who has been fishing long enough and caught enough fish has had them get hooked bad before as well. Whether we like it or not, it happens and is part of the game.
Congrats on a beauty fish!

If you keep any fish it's ok with me. Rule are rules. As of late I think a whole lot of guys out there should just go sign up with PETA and get it over with. Nice fish btw.

Nice Fish Catcher, Lets see what the Know it all self acclaimed king of Quinte Grizz, has to say about this beauty.

Id say nice fish to his face because I know Gerry and he don't need me to stroke his ego , and one thing I know about Gerry is he is as honest as the day is long. (Sorry Grizz, edited this comment)

"Uneducated!"

Apparently Thumbtack is educated. He knows the rules. And like Grizz said, so does Gerry. Along with ethics.

Thanks walleye wisdom. I think it's absurd that some one has to justify their legal catch. The decision to keep or release is yours and yours alone. I say don't let these guys take away from your happiness based on their beliefs. Maybe they should take up fly fishing.

Well I don't post much on the fish board I mainly post on the hunting forum , due to a few people on here who are usually negative and think they are something else. But this is a fish worth sharing , I caught it last night at 5:00 pm and what a fish and my biggest to date. My intentions were to not keep it but the hook was in the gills and either one of the gills got severed in the hook set or with me trying to squeeze it through the 8 inch hole . Any how it was fatally wounded and was going to be coming home with me since one of the gills was completely severed and bleeding bad. I have caught a few over 10 pounds in my ice fishing history, but when I put a tape on this one and it read 32.5 inches I had to put my digital scale on it. And it settled in at 14.2 pounds, WOW what a fish .You guys will not believe me but it was caught on a green and silver hammered cleo spoon topped with a minnow. The bite has been light and very little movement , maybe a foot of bottom and 6 inch jigs with long pauses , which is hard to switch over from long aggressive jigging . Lol But it has been working for me with my limit every time out this year . Lots of fish on the flasher between 3 and 5 pm . Good luck out there.

Nice fish !! WTG !! Lemon lime 1/4 ounce cleo is one of my best lure's on Lake Erie. Usually always have one rod with that lure on. 1/3 do-jiggers been working well too. Now we just need some ice like you guys got so we can get out there.

Congrats on the new PB, that's a tank and must have been a riot on the short rod! Nice to see the details on what they are hitting for you too!
