This might sound like ranting but here it goes.
Bought a Jiffy 60i a few years back. Used it 3 times over 3 years because my buddy has an auger which we use mostly.
To start off, this thing requires a dozen pulls to get it to show any signs of life with and without choke. Once it does show signs of coming to life it still requires another dozen pulls alternating between choke and no choke etc... I pride myself on being able to get almost all 2 strokes to start so I'm very familiar with 2 stroke starting procedure.
First trip - Plastic pull handle broke after 2 or 3 pulls. had to tie it to a stick to get the thing started. No biggie bought a new handle and replace it.
Second trip - exhaust tip broke off. Cheap bent metal.
Third trip - plastic casing for the air filter cracked. Not from dropping it but holding onto it while priming the bulb which is really stiff.
Got it ready today to go out this weekend and now the thing won't shut off. Had to pull the spark plug and of course without gloves so got a nice little wake-up
.
Made in America is not what it use to be I guess.
My buddies has 20 year old jiffy that runs like a champ, all beat up but starts on a couple of pulls and has mostly metal parts.
Since this is the fourth year no warranty. Might get another one, anyone have better experience with other brands i.e. Eskimo?
