Left Oshawa Friday morning with the temps reading -27 with a wind chill factor of -42...
Had been staring at a map of the Bay for 3 days prior trying to decide where to go. After stopping at Pro Tackle to get minnows, we decided to hit Deseronto for the p.m bite. Started fishing at about 1 p.m and fished till dark in 14FOW. No fish. Ice where we were was 11 inches with about 5 black, and 6 white on top. Didn't seem to bother the 3 trucks that were out there....
Stayed in a hotel in Napanee Friday night so we could fish Saturday. Hooked up with Tim (tylercurt) at Huffs Saturday morning, and were on the ice at about 6:30 a.m Set up in 27 FOW and starting marking fish right away, but no takers. At around 10:30 a.m I finally hooked into one, and landed my new Hardwater PB at just under 8 pounds. Not a lunker by any means, but still a PB, and successfully released. About a half hour later Tim lands one which he says was 4 pounds, but I think it was closer to 5.5...lol
Anyways, not a lot of fish caught, but was nice to hook into a couple. Left the ice around 1 p.m and made the trek back to the Shwa.
Thanks Tim for the good conversation, and the company out there.
