Hay Bay June 25 & 26th

Both days were beautiful if not actually a little too hot. Both days started at the church, to Thompson's, to Sherman's and then King's Court. Picked up fish everywhere except Sherman's.

For the 2 days we boated 13 'eyes with only 2 keeper's...an 18 and 17 incher. Lost one about 22 inches at Thompson's when my line snapped right at the boat :evil:

One boat from Bayview had 17 boated on Saturday evening with 4 of them keepers. They had 5 on Sunday morning with all of them under 14 inches.

Saw one of the Bass boats landing a huge Large Mouth at the Church that looked to be close to 5 lbs! Definitely 4 plus anyways. I never tried my hand at the Bass for the weekend but may do one day exlusively next week or the next as I'll be up until July 10th.

I'll be up Wednesday night, can't wait.

Come on Ken, don't leave us hanging. Could you follow up with the time of the day, lures or baits. I know the area and cottage at the back of the bay but just haven't heard of the walleye being caught as frequently this year. I can hardly wait to hit the water theses next two weeks. Thanks for any other info Ken.

Hi Stan,

all the fish from Bayview were caught on Uzick Spinners tipped with worm. My boat used mostly the orange but the one boat that had 17 on Saturday night were using Chartreuse. Fishing from 8 am - 12 pm, then 6 pm to 9pm. Most of the Walleye being caught are under 14 inches the last few weeks. Should be eating size SOON! I heard that Big Bay in Deseronto has been REALLY HOT. I'll be taking a trip up that way one of the days of my vacation this week or next as I also have some good Bass spots I haven't tried in a while. My parents always fish up there and do very well as they prefer Bass over Walleye fishing.

Thanks Ken, that'll get me going. Maybe see you guys and Superdad up there. If your ever get back in the back Haybay, just look for the red boat house door on the south shore and stop in for a cold one. Good luck on the holidays.
