What are your go to depths for walters?

I really like to fish 17-25ft deep for those wallys in quinte but i have also caught them in scugog in 3ft and up north in 40ft whats a good range of depth in quinte Whilst ice fishing ?

Caught all my fish this year in 17 to 22 fow, haven't had much luck any deeper then that so far!

I have been finding using the flasher it doesnt matter what depth ur in I have had to bring them off bottom 6 to 10 feet just to get them to strike been a really weird year

I have caught all mine in 10 - 12 FOW on Quinte and can see them swim in (while it is light enough) and bite. The areas I fish are the mouth of the Trent river, Onderdonk, Bayside Cement plant and the air base. Then Weller's Bay in February at the same depth.

I'm with Hutchy, Everything I have caught this year has been in 12fow.

I agree with Hutchy, morning bite is 13 fow late afternoon has been 8 fow for us.... I pretty much fist the Trent, out back but will be hitting the Bay Friday morning for some fun with friends.

3 trips so far and the most luck for the bros and I has come in 26-28ft, mind you we haven't tried much shallower but we typically send a couple of scouts a little deeper mid-day if we feel the need. It sounds like they're being caught in a wide range of depths though. I'd hazard a guess they're not overly worried about what depth they're in as long as there's a reason to be there, like a good source of food, especially with this years ice and snow cover. Or maybe some schools prefer shallow vs deep and vice verse, similar to summer smallies...

What sizes are you catching in the deeper water? I am getting 1 1/2 - 3 pounders in the shallow end but no big sows.

We've been getting a decent mix of eaters and 5-8lb fish but only two pushing 10lb so far.
