They sell small 7 and 12 amp rechargeable batteries that are sealed. If none of the sporting goods dealers have them get at an electrical supply as they are also used for emergency lighting. In the past I have used my lawnmower battery tho a bit heavy.

Canadian Tire sells these sealed batteries. I've seen them in the boating section. I think they are around $30. I use one for my fish finder in the summer and on my camera for the winter. Great little battery and they last all day! Many times have forgot to turn my fish finder off only to find it still on the next day!
They are also very light weight too.

Get them from a battery supplier. I have two for my lowrence 4x but it only went through less than 25% of the charge in one of them on Sunday over 6 hours. as spox014 said "National Battery" in kingston, they always have them and they are between $17 and $20. I think you can also get a 12V 9A it will last a bit longer but cost more (I am not an expert on this so ask them when you talk to them if this is true as I do not want my advice to be responsible for blowing your unit). I buy 12V 7A all the time to replace dead ones in APC unit for my clients computers. I tried to get a 9A for an APC last week and they were out of stock. National Battery number is 613-634-7357 I think the company name is actually magnacharge battery as that is what is listed on the receipts but the sign outside says "National battery".

I bought my 12 volt battery 2 years ago at the Belleville Canadian Tire. It is one that works for deer feeders and also the tree cameras. It is nice and small. About 2.5 inches wide by about 6 or 7 inches long. Cost around 20.00 which ever battery you get just make sure you have a 3 amp fuse on your positive wire between the battery and fishfinder.
