Just wondering if anyone has used an lx6 or above on a boat before with the proper transducer and if so is it good enough for fishing or is a fish finder specific for a boat the way to go? any info greatly appreciated

It's far easier to ice fish with a fish finder than it is to boat fish with a flasher. Flashers don't provide you with a 'history' on screen to tell you if you're passing fish. You have to do things like drive the boat so you can't be watching he real time returns of a flasher @ all times.

The MarCum LX6, LX-7, LX-9 do have a standard chart display and a transducer for your transom is available and can also be rigged for your trolling motor.
