Went out of Pt Anne on fri after work and again on Sunday. Fri I drove my SUV on the ice. It has probably been 10 years since I last did that. I didnt have a measuring tape but the ice was the full length of my metal slush scoop (about16-18"). I took a buddy who hasnt iced fish in many years and he was thrilled to go. He caught 2, one at about 1.5 and the other around 4 lbs. I was happy for him and nice to see the look on his face. Skunk for me. Sunday after all the rain did not drive out but went with some board members who have machines and man was it wet. Lotsa lotsa water on the ice. In our group of 4 there were 5 eyes caught with most getting 1 fish and one getting 3 eyes and a pike that we weighed in at 14.2lbs. It was a very very thick fish and man what a big head coming up through the hole. The MNR came through at one point and I asked them where the hot fishn was and the response was they had covered everywhere from Trenton to just east of Trident point and no hotspot schools. Just one fish caught here one fish caught there. Back on shore at the end of the evening same story from other guys coming off the ice. Fishing was tough.

Made it out to the mouth of the river late Saturday night. Tried cow island & potters before but the wind was just to crazy to set up let alone walk out without blowing away. so we eventually made our way into Trenton where the wind wasnt so bad. Fished from about 2am until 930. Marked tons of fish but just couldn't get them to take. We were in about 16 fow but just wondering if I'd have better luck going into deeper water or is it a kind of hit & miss thing going on?. Here's to hoping for a little temperature drop. Cheers lads

I don't feel so bad now. There seems to be a bit of a lull going on right now. I tried Trenton on Thursday night from Indian island to the mouth of the river and Point Anne on Sunday night with only a few perch to show for it. I was thinking the ice bite just wasn't on after dark. At least that was my excuse :)

Went out to Point Ann for the first time on Friday probably marked 1000 perch and caught 20-30. No jumbo's tho just little feeders. Tons of ice 16-18 inches.

Exact same story for myself. Went out to Point Anne. Had a Great day catching tons of perch, few jumbos, and got my buddy his first fish through the ice!!! Fun day all in all .....but would have been nice to mark a few walleye. Maybe we werent out far enough? about 500 -600 ft from shore?

The Trent is on fire,,, last Friday after fishing the Bay and getting skunked in the morning, we headed back to my place. My buddy (who never catches many fish)had his best day on the ice and our son finally got his first nice eye iced out with Mom and Pop tonight. We've iced over 30 this week, trying new spots and thankfully, I've found the fish. They move quick in our area.
