Got out yesterday morning for a fish with my neighbour and PBseaker. Set up in the dark and were ready to by 645. Snow started falling and the flashers lit up like Christmas trees. My neighbour doesn't have a flasher and had 3 on the ice before I could figure out what they wanted. PBseaker had 2. I started to work the fish with big high jigs and low and behold they came flying up off the bottom and weren't thinking twice. . so I moved my flasher over to his hole and they started showing up, 3,4,5 fish at a time. he couldn't get them to bite. finally I told him to jig about 6' and let the lure fall to the bottom. Well he did that and as the lure hit it's apex and started falling a giant mark appeared raced off bottom and slammed it. got the fish through the hole and ended up weighting 10.4lbs (not his biggest but great way to end the day). Fish was released after a couple of pictures. All in all a great day on the ice and the fish bit the way they should.

All fish were caught in 22'-25' of water. Pics are on my phone and if I can figure out how to get them off I will post them (maybe someone will help me, lol)

Ice where we were was a solid 10" with only about 3" of white on top.

great Day on Quinte!

Cheers,

Chris

Tim, I have had a pretty good hard water season so far. I have been skunked once and that's it in 5 trips. I have caught 9 so far in 5 trips while only losing 2. We have to get out. The one thing Coxy forgot to mention is that all fish were caught on the same lure. I guess it's a good thing I had extras. Lol.... Still looking for a giant and I think it's coming soon. Maybe Friday morning.

Tim, I thought you were the king of Hay Bay? A dangerous game moving into the neutral waters of the reach. This encroachment will not got unnoticed by the King to the west in the waters known as Big Bay (aka Grizzly). This move will surely be seen as a act of aggression causing a swift retaliation leading Grizzly to claim all waters from Big bay to Forresters and expand his already massive empire. This will surely lead to all out and bloody war, the death toll will be catastrophic (mostly walleye with the odd jumbo perch... most likely breaded or battered and deep-fried with a side of coleslaw and beans). This war will only end with man to man combat in a final epic battle known as the "Battle of the Bay" Feb 1.

LOL…
Hay Bay has been good to me, but it is nice to broaden your horizons and try something new. In my defence he did say a few years ago I could fish his Bay, haven’t been served with anything yet (except for golden battered walleye with garlic mashed potatoes and butter slathered fiddleheads) so guess I’m safe for now. Unless he plans on winning the Battle of the Bay and banishing us all? (We’d never hear the end of it)...lol
