Hey everyone!

Still relatively new here, but figured I would take the plunge into my first post :)

A friend and I had the chance to explore some back-country lakes around Madoc, and had some awesome success. We were fishing from roughly 11am - 3:30pm, and caught all of our fish on olive, cone-head woolly buggers.

Hope you enjoy the photos!

Adding some fly-fishing flavor to our hard-water game:

Those are some pretty looking Rainbows, great job. Have tried a couple of times for them through the ice but none so far for me

Thanks! The lake we were on is a very deep spring fed lake, however we were catching them between 4-9 ft below the ice on the olive woolly buggers.

Awesome, thanks for the tips, will have to try again this year. I have only tried one lake, Small clear lake north of Tamworth

Damn those are some beautiful fish! Congrats and thanks for sharing the details. Never got a 'bow through the ice, would imagine it's a great fight.

No problem - they seemed to love the woolly bugger - great versatile fly that's very easy to tie if you ever wanted to try :)

Thanks, and no problem! It is a great fight! There are plenty of lakes that hold them thanks to the MNR stocking program in certain zones - I definitely recommend giving them a shot!
