What happens to the bite when the temperature drops?

Anyone who thinks pressure doesn't affect fishing has to be off there rocker. I've seen to exact same days as the pressure changes and they are completely didn't fishing days. Summer or winter. I fish tournaments in the Detroit river and stopped by the cabela's store and watch there big fish tanks. One day the fish are off, stop at the store and they are glued to the bottom of the tank. Next day the bite is on and the fish are up of the bottom roaming around. The only thing different from the weather man was the pressure. You have to figure out for yourself witch is the best pressure for the body of water you are fishing. It's not always the same for every body. Current can make a big difference in the mix.

YOU FREEZE!!!!!! Caught 3 today, 2 small ones and a 2lb, it was dam cold!!! 6 Huts at Huffs tonight ....

The only way I will ever believe that barometric pressure effects feeding is if I see linked a scientific study that links the two. Temperature is obviously different as it effects metabolism, but what scientific reason would a fish not have to eat as pressure changes?

Temperature fluctuations in the winter have no effect on the water temperature under the ice except for the top few feet. Once ice cover is established water temperatures stabilize around 4 degrees Celsius throughout the water column. Different storey during the open water season.

I believe without a doubt though, that the pressure changes associated with those warm/cold fronts impact fish behaviour. During the open water you just have the additional variable of water temp on fish behaviour.

Fish stable weather, approaching low pressure, rising pressure after a period of low and any other time you can get away from work and home!!!

Well..... either my theory was right or I just got lucky. Iced 3 and lost 1 at the hole.
