Hello all. Have yet to get up to quinte but hoping I will be within the next couple weeks so I'm trying to plan out some areas i would like to fish.

Just wondering if anybody knows if there are any access spots near Thompson Pt.? I checked the link at the top of the board but the mark for Thompson Pt is out in the water. Can anybody confirm is there is actually an area to park and access the ice from this area??

Thanks,

J

If you click on the number you should be able to get driving directions on that map. There will also be a brief description on the left side of the page. If you are on a phone, clicking on the number may not work.

Hope this helps

I just tried what you recommended Walleye 9 but it still just gives directions to what looks like a random spot on Thompson's Pt. Rd. I checked google streetview also but the whole area looks like either houses or lots with trailers on them. I definitely do not want to be parking on someone's property. Thank you for the info though.

I've never been there, so I don't know, but I'm sure those directions will get you to an access point. I've used that map to get to other locations, and it's pretty much bang on. Hopefully someone on this forum who has been there can confirm those directions for you.

Good Luck!!!

Thompsons access is in-between a few houses, there is a sign, it is a small lane that goes to the water(basically the size of a house lot), in the past few years there hasn't been much snow so the lane was open and guy would park there and walk off or drive off on quads. Now with the snow I'm not sure, have heard that guys had to park out on the main road and walk in the lane. There is not much room on the main road and there are locals that live down there so you would have to be careful. If you have a quad you will be fine as it is a long walk, your other option would be to park and Sherman’s and go from there as the lot is serviced. Watch for pressure cracks on the run
Good luck
Tim

Just found it. I was looking past where the sign is. Thanks for the info guys. Was hoping to get a little closer to the point but looks like this is the closest.

Thanks again,

J

You can park in the lot, but you pretty much need a four wheel drive as the lot is not serviced.
The walk out from Sherman's point is probably shorter. I have not parked over there in years as I live closer to the south side of the bay. The quads were getting stuck in the drifts last weekend and with blast of snow we had on Monday I'm sure it's only worse.
Good luck, and stay safe
Leo.
