I will be heading to picton bay soon and have never been befor so I'm looking for any advice I can get. I don't know weather to target mainly perch and hope for walleye or vise versa. How deep I can expect to fish. Weather it's worth trying late into the night or not. If there are other species I should also try and target. But really anything at all for a newbie would be a huge help!!! I just want to be able to put some fish in the pan that I haven't bought from the grocery store. I really appreciate the tips advice and help. If you would prefer to pm me with some secrets I can understand and feel free to
Cheers

I'm not sure how popular Picton Bay is for ice fishing, Thompsons point is about as far as I.ve been that way. The reach and Hay Bay have been quite good this year if your not set on one spot. Big Bay is another good option, just keep watching the posts to get an idea where the bite is on. Good luck

Kevin at Merland Park is hosting their big Poker/ice fishing event there this weekend. There is a sticky at the top of the board about it. Kevin and I have talked about ice fishing in Picton Bay and he has found lots of Jumbo perch but very few walleye.

We are stuck to fishing picton bay. So no one can give me any advice at all? Not even how deep to fish or best and worse times. We are prepared to hit the ice for a long shift and through the night if it would be worth it. Thanks

Its not that nobody wants to give you any advice. Its that no one fishes Picton Bay for walleye. Jumbo perch that will rival simcoe yes but eyes no.

The advice was if you want walleye dont fish picton bay. If you want perch give it a whirl during the day. Why are you restricted to picton bay?
