Anybody fishing there? How's the ice? Anyone catching anything? Going to try it tomorrow at a friends cottage.

I fish the canal all the time. I had an 8x8 hut out there before Christmas.

We were wondering who put that hut above the lock. I see you moved it and guessing you weren't getting a lot there? Usually everyone goes below the lock at Glen Ross. Below the lock near Myersburg is another popular spot. Both these places are in the canals with lots of ice.

The rest of the river between Glen Ross and Myersburg on both the back channel and the river has very sketchy ice in many places due to the currents through there. I've had a few way too close for comfort calls before and I don't venture out there on the ice anymore. Be extra careful if you go somewhere away from your comfort zone.

I do very well top and bottom of lock 7. As soon as ice is good on the bay I move my huts out there.
